My Creative Process

I believe in being upfront about how I create.

I come up with the concepts and the initial writing myself, then use AI as a tool to help refine what I’m trying to say and keep things on track. From there, I go through everything repeatedly, editing, adjusting, and shaping it until it feels exactly the way I want it to. Before this, I spent 18 years working in healthcare. After a back injury, I lost not only my ability to continue in that field, but also the stability and experience I had built over many years. It forced me to completely rethink my path.

I am a mother, and I lost everything after my injury. I am still rebuilding my life 3 years later. Instead of giving up, I made the decision to keep going and to create and help others also. I chose to learn, I took courses, explored new skills, and began figuring out how I could bring my creative ideas to life in a different way. I started this work with very limited resources, using what was available to me, and AI became one of the tools that helped make that possible.

Every piece you see here is shaped, edited, designed, and refined by me. Creating something that feels right takes time, intention, and a great deal of hands-on work, even with the use of AI. As I grow, I would love to collaborate with illustrators and other creatives. But I also believe we can’t wait for life to be perfect to go after what we want to create. You have to start somewhere. Time is precious, and I’ve chosen to be resourceful with what I have, learning, building, and proving to myself that I am capable of bringing my ideas to life.

I understand that people have different opinions about the use of AI, and if you don’t align with that, that’s okay. I’d rather be open about my process than have it misunderstood. What matters most to me is creating thoughtful, meaningful work that genuinely helps others.
