I Know What I’m Capable Of

I’ve walked through pain, I’ve walked through fire,
I know my strength, I know my desire.
I know what I’m capable of inside and out,
Even when the world has turned aside with doubt.

I’ve carried storms in quiet ways,
Built my life from broken days.
I’ve bled in silence, rose in flame,
And still I’m standing, still the same.

I know what it takes to start from dust,
To build from nothing, faith from trust.
I’ve been unseen, I’ve been unheard,
Yet lived the truth I’ve never slurred.

They may not see the miles I’ve run,
The nights I fought, the battles won.
But I do, and that’s enough,
I know my worth, I know I’m tough.

I don’t need proof in someone’s eyes,
My life has spoken louder than lies.
I am the fire I walked through then,
And I will rise again and again.

I Know What I’m Capable Of, Behind the Story

This poem stems from a moment of reflection, not on pain, but on strength. It captures all the ways I persevered, adapted, learned, and built, even when no one was keeping track.

There were no trophies for surviving, nor was there applause for starting over. Yet, there was growth, there was progress, and there was me.

Sometimes, we are aware of our own capabilities, even when those around us might not be. This poem serves as a reminder, to myself and anyone reading, that your life is proof of your resilience. You don’t need permission to trust in your strength, nor do you require witnesses to your journey of growth. You are already embodying the evidence of what you can achieve.

Strength doesn’t always make itself known loudly; at times, it is steady and quiet, and sometimes it simply manifests as the choice to keep moving forward.

“I Know What I’m Capable Of” is about acknowledging your own understanding, standing confidently in your narrative, and honoring all that you have accomplished while trusting in what you can still achieve.

You are living evidence of your own strength.
