Don’t Let a Bad Moment Ruin a Good Day
A design from my first brand, and a philosophy I’m still learning to live by.

This was one of the first graphics I ever created under my original brand, Heartlight Haven. When I rebranded to Hellbloom Haven, I chose to carry it with me because the message still means something to me. In fact, it probably means more now than it did then.

It seems like a simple, even cliché, reminder. But for those of us who struggle with emotional dysregulation, it’s anything but simple.

If your nervous system is already stretched thin,
or your body holds the echoes of old pain,
and no one ever showed you the way back to calm,
then even the smallest disruption can feel like too much.

Even a single bad moment can feel overwhelming, like a landslide. It can seem as if the entire day is ruined, leaving no way back to feeling neutral.

I’ve lived that. I’ve spiraled from a small trigger into a shutdown I couldn’t climb out of. I’ve lost whole days to a single moment that pulled me under.

This quote is more than just uplifting words; it serves as a reminder of resilience.
It says: You don’t have to throw away the whole day just because part of it hurt.
You’re allowed to pause. Breathe. Reset. Come back to yourself, even at 3 p.m., even after tears or tension or whatever storm just swept through.

It’s also a reminder of how precious and limited our time is here.
We don’t get to keep every day. And while we can’t avoid pain, we can choose to reclaim what’s left of the day, to meet it with intention, even softness.

And more than anything, it’s an invitation to notice the good we so often overlook.
The breath in your lungs. The sun on your face. A hot meal. A kind message.
We are blessed in so many quiet, ordinary ways, and when we stop long enough to see that, it grounds us. It brings us back into presence. And presence is where peace lives.

That’s the inspiration behind this design.
